The key themes in my work revolve around the human figure, the environment, and the geometry of architectural and other forms. These threads often converge. I am also fascinated by the historical context of my subjects and this often indirectly finds its way into my final images. Working in a range of media, from acrylic and oils to graphite and printmaking; texture and markmaking always play a key role.
I have also been developing ideas based on regular visits to Ireland, my father's birthplace, where I still have close family ties. This has resulted in drawings, paintings and prints exploring the remains of an older Ireland still visible in the disused buildings which are scattered though the landscape and towns.
